To develop or evolve something means adapting to something not present now. Adapting means change. While doing a change there is a trade off between exploitation and exploration or between efficiency and flexibility or just you and me. That leads to an ambidextrous organization of paradoxes and dilemmas. To do a change it needs a decision. For a decision a choice is needed. What impacts the choice? Impacts come from every relation in the present and any extrapolation of the future. Relations in the present are because the choices made in the past. As future is uncertain there is a need to reduce the amount of available possibilities which come true. This can be done through reduction of complexity or through an increase in performance on the prediction of the future. All has to do with reducing variation. Why reduce variation? Because it affords better prediction. To handle predictions asks for responsibility.
